La technologie automobile évolue sans cesse et, le plus souvent, pour la comprendre, rien de telle qu’une petite vidéo explicative. C’est ce que ActuAuto.TV vous propose dans cette rubrique Lexique.

All-New Ford Fiesta | Lane Keeping System

Lane Keeping System in the All-New Fiesta uses a front-facing camera to detect if you unintentionally drift out of lane. An alert warns you by vibrating the steering wheel and displaying a visual warning. If you’re slow to react or don’t respond, Lane Keeping Aid can provide steering torque assistance to help guide you safely back into the right lane. The technology is designed for multi-lane roads (like motorways), so will automatically deactivate at speeds below 40mph (65 km/h) or can be turned off manually.

All-New Ford Fiesta | Pre-Collision Assist

Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection detects vehicles and pedestrians up to 130 metres ahead, or who could cross the vehicle’s path, and warns you of their presence. If you don’t respond, the system automatically applies the brakes. This new technology is designed to help reduce the severity of accidents, or help avoid them altogether. And not only does it function at speeds of up to 50mph, it also works at night.

Mercedes-Benz EQ Power: Boost Function | Plug-in Hybrid

The dynamism and efficiency of an electric motor with external charging function for daily driving in the city combined with the range of an internal combustion engine: the plug-in hybrids from Mercedes-Benz. The film metaphorically visualizes the EQ Boost function by showing its impact on the surrounding in a neighbourhood. The boost gives the EQ a 10–20 second dramatic acceleration by engaging the electric motor, adding a whole new sporty dimension to plug-in hybrid driving.
